Exotic car rental requirements in San Diego
What you need before you can drive an exotic in San Diego — licence, insurance, deposit, and the two-day minimum that applies to every car we rent.
Renting an exotic car is not the same as renting from an airport counter. The vehicles are worth more, the insurance requirements are stricter, and the deposit is meaningful. None of that is difficult — but it is worth knowing before you send a request rather than after.
A valid driver’s licence
You will need a current, valid driver’s licence. International visitors should bring their home licence along with an International Driving Permit where their licence is not in English.
Full-coverage insurance
Exotic and luxury vehicles require full-coverage insurance that extends to the value of the car. Many personal policies cap out well below the value of a Rolls-Royce Cullinan or an SF90, so this is the requirement that most often needs sorting out in advance. We will tell you exactly what is needed for the specific car when we confirm availability.
A refundable security deposit
A mileage allowance
One hundred miles a day are included on every rental. Beyond that it is $5 a mile, worked out when the car comes back rather than estimated up front. For most weekends that allowance is more than enough — the coast run from La Jolla to Carlsbad and back is under sixty — but a day out to Mount Palomar or up to Los Angeles will use it, so it is worth knowing before you plan the route.
A two-day minimum
Every vehicle we rent has a two-day minimum. Single-day rentals are not something we take, and the booking form will not let you request one. Longer rentals attract reduced daily rates.
Time to confirm
Our fleet is based in San Diego, so same-week bookings here are routine. Los Angeles and Orange County want a little more notice, and our rarest cars go first on peak weekends — ask early for those.

- Two days on every vehicle. Reduced daily rates are available on extended rentals.
- Do I need my own insurance to rent an exotic car?
- Yes. Full-coverage insurance extending to the value of the vehicle is required. We confirm the exact requirement for your chosen car before booking.
- How many miles are included?
- One hundred miles a day, on every rental. Beyond that it is $5 a mile, calculated when the car comes back.
- Is a security deposit required?
- Yes — a refundable $1,000 security deposit on every rental, the same figure for every car on the fleet. It is held against damage and returned after the car comes back.
